MSD 2.0: Get Ready To Micro-Meet

You know how this works! Mentors get the tables - founders keep moving.

Each meeting is 5 minutes long - no time for awkward silence (we thought of that).

For Companies

Want in? We're looking for start-ups with a solid business plan - and a keen sense that there's still miles to go before you sleep.  12 to 16 companies will be chosen by the organizing team (Mack Flavelle, Simon Wilson and Karen Rebecca Black) to meet with 12 mentors in micro-meetings.

Participating companies will be provided with a confirmed list of the 12 participating mentors on April 30th. Please arrive with specific requests for mentors you'd like to meet and be ready to identify the two key issues (ie: legal, fundraising, technology, business development, sales, accounting etc.) where you think they can help.

If you'd like to be considered:

  • Set up a profile
  • Submit a one-page Executive Summary to  MentorSpeedDating@gmail.com before Friday, April 30th.

For Mentors

Who can be a mentor? New Ventures BC explains it rather perfectly, so we'll defer to them:

"Successful entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, angel investors or service and academic professionals who have registered with and been accepted by [MSD 2.0] organizers."

We're keeping it simple:

  • Set up a profile
  • Be open to following-up with companies you enjoy meeting after the event.

Our twelve participating mentors will also have the opportunity to mingle with each other at an informal dinner on the evening of Friday, April 30th.
